Dr Sam Joseph is a trained specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon with a focus on hip and knee conditions in the bayside area of Melbourne.

Dr Sam Joseph grew up in Melbourne and completed his medical studies at Melbourne University. He completed his orthopaedic training in Victoria and was awarded his fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2014.

​

Dr Samuel Joseph undertook clinical fellowships at the Clinique Jouvenet and the Clinique Arago in Paris.  He specialised in hip and knee conditions, with a focus on replacement surgery and sports injuries.  During this time Dr Joseph also travelled throughout Europe to visit a number of prominent surgeons further developing his abilities in these areas.

After two years abroad Dr Samuel Joseph returned to Australia and joined The Orthopaedic Group. He specialises in muscle sparing hip and knee replacement surgery, robotic replacement surgery, reconstructive surgery of the knee, and sports knee conditions.

 

Dr Samuel Joseph has public appointments at Alfred Health and Peninsula Health, where he supervises and teaches trainee Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is the Director Of Training at Sandringham Hospital (Alfred Health). He is the current deputy head of the VIC/TAS Orthopaedic training program.

Dr Joseph works privately at Linacre Private, Peninsula Private, and Cabrini, and also consults in Langwarrin and South Yarra.

​

Dr Samuel Joseph continues to be active in research. His work has been published in international journals and has been presented at multiple meetings around the world. He won the Rosengarten prize for surgical trainee research in 2013.

Dr Joseph is married with three children, and is fluent in French.
